Looking to study short-term in Japan on a tourist visa or visa waiver? Then this is the course for you! Experience our acclaimed Comprehensive Japanese Course classes for between two weeks and three months. This course is the perfect way to brush up your Japanese ability, or to try out our course before committing to study for two years.
Please note that student visas are not available for short-term courses such as this. You must already have a visa for Japan, or be able to apply for a tourist visa or receive a visa waiver, to join this course.

Visa
You must be able to enter Japan yourself: either you already have a visa for Japan, you can apply for a tourist visa to stay for up to 3 months, or you are eligible for a visa waiver.

Study Program
On this course, you will study Japanese from your starting level (usually low beginner) all the way to advanced level. Our curriculum has been honed over the years to help students improve early and move up through the levels.

Elementary – Learning pronunciation, Hiragana, Katakana, basic kanji and respectful/ honorific grammar, students will be able to communicate in daily life.

Pre-Intermediate – Strengthen the ability to express simple phrases according to situations. Also study basic expressions which will be introduced in an intermediate level.

Intermediate – Strengthen the vocabulary and grammar through topics outside daily life. Learn how to express more naturally and accurately.

Pre Advanced – Learning how to use more advanced vocabulary and complex expressions in order to enhance comprehension and communication abilities in a wide variety of situations in life.

Start Dates and Application Deadlines
This short-term Japanese course starts every three months. While the Japanese government’s visa application deadlines do not apply here, we do ask for you to send in your application at least one month in advance to give us time to prepare your classes, especially if you require us to book your accommodation.
Please note that availability may be limited, so we recommend applying early if possible.

Schedule
Classes are held Monday to Friday, in either the morning or the afternoon, depending on your level.

After classes, students spend their time studying at school, working at their part-time job, doing their homework at home, and enjoying life in Japan with their friends.

Other Important Points
- This course has limited availability, and we cannot guarantee that you will be accepted.
- Unless you enter Japan on a visa that specifically allows paid work, you will not be allowed to work on this course.

We will ask you to take a short test before you start, to determine the best class to place you in, and you will be expected to take any class tests during your study with us.

Unless your visa specifically allows part-time work, you cannot work part-time while studying on this course.

A good number of our students have found employment after studying with us. It depends on your level of Japanese at the start of your course. Most jobs in Japan ask for a university degree and at least a JLPT 2 level of Japanese.

How much you learn depends on how long you study with us, and what you learn depends on your ability level when you start with us. In general, 3 months of study is enough to increase your ability by one level (out of 9 total that we offer).

Studying at a Japanese college or university generally requires at least N2 level of Japanese, and preferably N1. In most cases, our long-term Comprehensive Japanese Course [link] is better suited for people who want to enter a Japanese school of higher education.
