The “I.C.” of I.C.NAGOYA stands for “International Communication”. We were the first Japanese language school in the Chubu area to be authorized by the Ministry of Justice to accept international students while providing student visas.
We started welcoming students in 1983, and since then we have taken in learners from more than 45 countries.
Our teachers use their experience to guide and help our students enhance their communication skills. We help not by just teaching Japanese, but also by supplying our students with skills to find success in Japan. We offer guidance for those who want to enter a university or college, and we also help those of our students who dream of finding employment.
Living in another country can be difficult, so we help our students to navigate through laws and regulations that they may have to face so that they can concentrate on their studies. Our graduates have gone to universities, vocational schools and graduate schools, some have found employment in Japan, while others chose to return to their home countries to work for Japanese companies, or as translators and interpreters.
We make every decision with the following idea in mind: “We teach people to think and act from a global point of view”.
Nagoya is an affordable city, compared to other big cities worldwide. It is an urban centre, but with beautiful parks and historical spots. It is a great place to live and concentrate on Japanese study!
Exit Nagoya Station from the Eastern Exit (Sakura-dori side). You will see a massive spiraling monument in front of you. Keep the monument on your right when crossing the main street (Meieki-dori). As you walk across the street, you will see a glass building in front of you. Turn right after reaching the other side of the road and keep the glass building on the left. Keep going forward until you reach the UNIMALL Exit number 4. Here turn left and keep walking until you reach the convenience store called Lawson. Almost there! On your right, you will see the entrance to I.C. Nagoya's building. Go in and take an elevator to the 4th Floor.

Hello everyone. My name is ChoHaku. I have been studying at I.C. Nagoya for almost two years and I am currently in Level 7 Japanese class. The lessons are very rich in content, as they help us improve our listening and reading comprehension, grammar and composition skills. We are also quizzed in Japanese daily.
Additionally, teachers provide us with individualized student support such as career and employment guidance. I learned a lot at this school!
When I first came to Japan I could not even read hiragana or katakana, but by this point, I had passed JLPT N2! I think it is thanks to the support received from the school.

Additionally, at I.C. Nagoya you can take mathematics, sciences etc., to prepare for the EJU test (University Entrance Exam). The school also helps students apply for the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) and runs mock exams as well!

The school dormitory is very comfortable and located in a very quiet and safe area. There are many convenience stores, shops and restaurants around as well!
Though small, the rooms have everything you might need. It is safe, as the entrance doors have automatic locks! The building and elevators are checked regularly, so you can stay there without worrying! The staff at I.C. Nagoya offer full support, so if you have any issues with your accommodation, they can help you resolve the problem very quickly!
